Well second part of my adventure. Caught a flight to Philadelphia . Waited until everyone was on board and then saw one row of four seats not filled. Felt it would be rude not to fill them so moved seats and had my own business class bed for the journey. The transfer for the LA flight went very smoothly and so I boarded my next flight of 6 hours with great anticipation. So when I sat down in my seat I got a shock. No TV screens ( not on this flight) I didnt eat at the airport because I knew there was a meal waiting for me on the plane - oh no there wasn't. You had to pay for everything except soft drinks. It made the day much longer.
Then arrived into the caos of LA Airport. It was mad and I had to wait half an hour for my airport shuttle. Apparently they don't run too often - at least my hotel didn't which made me a bit apprehensive. So when we pulled up to my hotel or motel it was actually the orphanage - well not quite. It reminds me of the motel in Psycho. The only difference is that you have jets flying over your ceiling every 3 minutes. Could be a long night but at least the bed looks inviting. I am now sitting in a Greek cafe getting something to eat. The one positive thing in all of this is that the car hire company that I booked with is next door so I don't have to go back to the terminal. Life is never dull !!!!

Gilly Maybe not the best of starts but here's hoping you have another great adventure. All the best, hope you have got long pants for when you visit the churches
Mark P Hi Billy, thanks for the heads up with the flight. I will bring my cheese sandwiches. Enjoy the second part of the sabbatical.
Karen Can't believe they didn't feed you on a flight that length. Unlike you to select a naff hotel, you are usually good at pitching it just right. Good news about the car rental. Have a good it will get better. Think positively you could have booked in for a week and paid in advance ha ha. Take carexxxxxxx
Joan Scrivner Hi Billy just read your blogs and looked at the pictures. The church looks amazing and I can just imagine the volume of praise and worship that goes up from there. Incredible! I'm praying you have a wonderful and blessed time as you travel round the various churches. I'm praying for great things here. Glad you are ok and I hope you and Mark have a great time together next week. Don't get lost!!
