Christmas in Germany has been exciting. There are Christmas markets everywhere with food, rides, drinks, crafts and ice skating. The weather is cold and rainy but no snow. The city of Berlin has beautiful lights and trees everywhere. Red and Yellow stars are on many houses and trees. We are sad to leave but excited to see a new place.

We LOVED the Berlin Zoo and Aquarium. So much wide open space in the middle of the city. Many animals. Not much separating the animals from the people. Penguins just swim right up to next to you. Big fun play ground for the kids. Maybe it was the time of the year and the slight rain but we had the zoo practically to ourselves. A few more people in the Aquarium but not crowded.

The first week has been amazing. Exhausting, but amazing. Traveling is the ultimate lesson in being patient. We have traveled the city checking out schools, places to live and museums. Sleep is the hardest. The sun does not come up until after 8:00am and it starts getting dark around 3:30pm. The kids could still sleep during the few hours of light if I let them. If they sleep past 4am it is a good day. Breakfast is like a lunch and we sleep through dinner. ...
