Here we are at Ronald Reagan International Airport waiting for our US Airways fight to New Orleans (or as we have been told N'Orleans).
Security and check in procedures; where do I begin?
As Ia had checked in on line last night and paid for baggage it was a little confusing to know what to do; cur side check in, kiosk check in, join a queue and ask! We joined a queue and after some helpful advice from others in the queue we arrived at the check in. A (helpful) agent punched a few buttons and disappeared. I asked here about r baggage labels and was told to "stand back sir, and wait". She went on to serve other so I approached her to be told "stand back sir and wait". Hours went past - not really but you know me, so I asked her again! "Please stand behind the line and wait over there sir". Another agent finally retrieved our baggage labels and we were nearly on our way- well not quite! The code for New Orleans is MSY and my bag was labelled correctly but Joanne' had ORL on it and another name. Fortunately the man going to ORL(Orlando) just walked by and Joanne noticed. So we called the agent - in a somewhat urgent manner, and he came and corrected the baggage labels.
Next...... To the baggage drop. Well that is exactly what it is. Drop your bags for the baggage screening and walk away! Something didn't seem quite right to not be with your bags when they are screened. Anyway we were off to the departure gate as printed on my downloaded boarding pass- wrong! The gate had changed. So off we go in the other direction and join another queue for hand baggage screening. Fortunately, as I had checked in ion line we were ushered through the priority line. Both of our. Ack packs didn't make it the first scan - phone and tablet re-chargers in my case and water and hand lotion for Joanne.
Any way, we are finally in the departure lounge having coffee and bagel/Dunkin Donuts for breakfast. It's three hours to New Orleans -Louisiana -the Deep South.
Can't wait!
