Well Queenie got us safely to Nashville, a little over 20 minutes late, so by the time we got settled in to the Indigo Hotel in downtown Nashville it was after 2pm.
We decided to send a box of our purchases so far home, so it was off to the US Postal Service around the corner from the hotel, buy a box and them back to the hotel to pack it. Then to the post office and send it on its way. ShoUld be 8-10 days, so we shall see.
By this time we were hungry so we went to Pucketts Grocery and Bar and had a snack, maybe dinner, but you never know.
Time to freshen up and our pick up arrived to take us to The Grand Old Opry, which is a country and western show, in a magnificent auditorium on the outskirts of town. The show is broadcast live on radio from here and has been gong since 1927. It is famous for starting the careers of many country and western singers as well as regular return visits by popular stars who have made it.
It was a great show with 7 different performers singing their versions of country, from honky tonk to bluegrass and more modern country music. We had a young male and female duo called Matchstick who were particularly good. The star attraction was Wynonna, an obviously very popular female country star in her 50's who had top billing and sang for about 30 minutes to a standing ovation.
It was a great night and we were very glad that we had booked for this.
It is good night from Nashville. Tomorrow it's the museums and a night on Broadway - Nashville style!
