So, Seattle is rather nice. I don't think six hours is really enough time to explore the place (what with it being quite big) but you can certainly get a taste of what the area has to offer. Our guide Tom took us to some pretty nifty places, including a Pyramid Alehouse (apricot ale, I'll never forget you...) and the Space Needle.
For some reason I always thought the Space Needle was taller. And a bit shinier. It's certainly shiny inside but the outside is looking a bit worn out these days. I blame movies and Frasier for raising my expectations. Still, the view is very impressive from the top and thankfully the weather was clear enough so you could see for miles.
We also walked past the very first Starbucks (omgz) but the queue was pretty big so we didn't go in. It was nice to see though, seeing as it's been a part of our morning routine for a few years now. I know other places do better coffee but there isn't a lot of choice where we live :)
After saying our goodbyes (and passing on our geordie gifts) we boarded the train home. Watching the sunset over the NW scenery was amazing, and they turned the lights down inside the train so that people could see things better. We got back into Vancouver at about 11.30pm and it was straight to bed. It had been a very long but interesting day,
