So here we are, on our way to Seattle on a big ol'train. It was a pretty early start but we've still been waking up at 4-5am so it wasn't too much of a hardship, then to the station (Pacific Central) to fill in forms of varying colours asking the same information. Then it was to the fingerprinting and photographing station (so now I guess we're "in the system"), $12 for a visa thank you very much and finally onto the train.
The ride down to the Canada/US border was rather nice; we saw eagles and birdies going about their morning routines, and some impressive vistas. Then a pause at the border to be questioned, inspected and stared at by the border patrol. They're doing a fine job (just in case they're reading) but it was a fairly alien experience for a Britlander who is used to going wherever the hell she wants within her own country :)
So now we're just trundling through the impressive Washington countryside, nibbling a bagel and wondering how "bagel with cream cheese" becomes "green tea" (initially thought to be "coffee and cream" until the cup was opened up and a teabag found nearby) when uttered by Aidan's impenetrable accent. Which is even more funny seeing as he doesn't HAVE an accent, at least not a regional one. Bless :)
