As I am typing this blog entry I am sat on a warm (Humid, not nice warm like you get in Spain or France, mind you France can be a bit like this, ANYWAY). So the train is on its way to Glasgow Central train station, I'll explain why in a minute.
Before I do, I want to share what I have been listening to for the past hour. An older woman and a young gentleman got on just after me and since, have not stopped talking. As I have a natural tendency to eves drop I have learnt many things about the two. The young man is on his way to Brighton to scout out his new life, he is the middle child of three, he has an older brother and a younger sister, they both love frank Sinatra and hate new technology and touch screen phones, and god knows what else I have learnt about the pair, but I think you get the picture. (If you're reading this random pair on the train, good luck with your new life and T-mobile do old style phones with BIG buttons)
Well that was a bit of a major digression, but oh well…going back to Glasgow.
I am of course on my way to Project trust training for my year in China. Every volunteer that goes abroad with Project Trust has to spend a week back on the isle of Coll for training in a whole manor of different things including stress management, health and safety and so on..! Each training course has about 3 different countries training at once, so this week it is of course China and then as well as us, volunteers destined for Chile and….and…ummm…I'll get back to you on that one!
As I have mentioned before my fellow China volunteer and good friend Emma lives in Glasgow (You know the one, I talked about her in my second blog? Hard to understand sometimes?) To break up the journey I'll stay with Emma in Glasgow tonight and we'll travel tomorrow to Oban ferry port. We will then spend another night in a hostel in Oban ready to get the 3 hour ferry at 5:30am…YES I SAID AM!
I'm really excited for the week ahead, to go back to Coll (which is beautiful!) and to meet the rest of the China volunteers. Especially to meet my partner for the year, Brian (Who I've talked about before), and to meet Georgina (Emma's partner). Are you keeping up? Maybe to make things easier I'll post a selfie with all of the people I meet so you can put names to faces, it shall be called the selfie-book. So watch out for that in the gallery….
For now I am going to say goodbye, as I'm really warm, going backwards on a train, and have downloaded "Orange is the New Black" to watch, exciting! I'm hoping to do a blog when I get back from training, but it depends on a number of factors…the main one being my motivation after a full on week!
Till Next time
