Hi All
Sorry it has been a while. Been moving from place to place so often, I've not had time to update anything.
Carrying on from the last blog, after leaving Rainbow Beach Me, Christina and Becky headed down to Noosa. Noosa was amazing, i could easily have stayed their longer and lived there!
We then travelled down to Brisbane. We didnt think much of Brisbane so we only checked in for 2 nights. Whilst there we went to Australia Zoo which was really good. We went to the crocoseum to see a croc show and then went to see a tiger show, was amazing. We were leaving Becky in Brisbane for her to find work so on our last night there we went out for the night.
Me and Christina then made our way down to Surfers Paradise. We stayed there for 3 nights. Had only one good day of weather, but it was ok as we had a dvd day in the hostel which was really nice. It was a quiet hostel so it was just us 2. In the evening we watched the rugby game in the hostel and a bunch of aussies who were stying there watched it with us, we then watched Case 39, a scary film with them, and they were more scared than us, it was so funny.
After that we went to Byron Bay for a few days. We did the Nimbin tour there and were tempted to try a cookie but the men selling them looked a bit scary so we didnt. Byron Bay was very hippey, but we enjoyed it there. On our last day, we got up at 4.30am, so walk to the famous lighthouse to see the sunrise at 6am. We didnt see much of a sunrise at it was very cloudly, but was still good.
After that, we went to Coffs Harbour for one night, just to break up the journey back to Sydney. Coffs was lovely. We stayed in a motel, which reminded us on Bognar Regis and being back home. Coffs was the first and only place to date where we saw a massive spider in our room. I was asleep and Christina was going to get ready. I heard her move her bag which was by me and could sense her just standing there, I thought nothing of it. She then said, very calmly, 'Rebecca, you might want to move your head over slightly'. I then looked at her and said why, she said there was a massive spider. I looked round and on the wall by my head was a massive spider! WE just both stared at it for about 5 minutes thinking what do we do, haha. We had to check out soon as well so Christina decided to have a shower whilst I kept guard. Whilst she was in there the spider moved down to the floor so I quickly picked all our bags up and put them on the beds so the spider didnt go in them. The spider then started to move to the shower door, it had one leg under the door. I shouted to Christina for her to stand on the toilet, she started getting really worried. Thankfully the spider moved and she managed to come out the shower. I then got a guy from next door who got his bin and scooped it out. It was so scary but I thought we handled it well, haha.
Coffs Harbour was our last stop. We then got the bus into Sydney, we stayed then one day and booked a 17 hour overnight bus journey to Melbourne. Melbourne was good, but not as good as Sydney. WE got so lost on the trams, we ended up an hour out of Melbourne and had to get another tram back into Melbourne. Weather there was a bit like England, wet and cold! The best part of Melbourne was the Neighbours tour. It was so good. We got to see some of the set, met Dr Karl Kennedy (he was so lovely), we got our photo taken with him and an autograph. We then visited Ramsey Street. Its a lot smaller than it looks in TV but it all looked so real. We stayed in Melbourne for 5 nights before getting the 17 hour overnight bus back to Sydney! Thhis overnight journey was alot better than the last one. We actually managed to sleep.
Have not been up to much in Sydney, just been relaxing and waiting for tomorrow when I leave for New Zealand. a few people from the group from my first week in Sydney are back in Sydney now, so it feels a lot like home, as it all stated here and is so good to see them after 7 or so weeks. Well, I fly to New Zealand tomorrow, for my new adventure! Looking forward to it. I've seen all I wanted to see in Oz and have met so many life long friends who have felt like family. I've also done so much more than I ever expected, for example, my skydive!
Anyway heading to New Zealand soon. I am not sure how often I will get to update things as I will be constantly on the move.
I hope I havent missed anything out of this blog! So many memories!
Will update when I can. Bye for now.
