Visted the Royal Museum of Scotland, Childhood Museum of Edinburgh, the Museum of Edingburgh, Camera Obscura, a ghost tour (The City of the Dead) through Greyfriars Cemetary on Saturday. Toured Loch Ness and the Highlands yesterday on a bus tour - over 300 miles - two busy days. Today, we are going to the Edingburgh Castle. Sorry, there are no pictures. Pictures will be coming soon or when I get home. I will write in more detail. We have limited computer lab time and I'm not as computer proficient as some of these younger students.
Scotland is interesting and very beautiful. We have had two very pretty days - last night was rainy though and today is a bit dreary.
Today was a lecture on Parliament. After having 300 years of no independent Scottish Parliament, in 1999 one was adopted. Their sole responsibility are for programs such as health, education, transport, local government, etc. but they have no power of taxation. All of taxation powers are in Westminister where the money is distributed by a percentage of expenditure of the United Kingdome relative to population.
