Howdy Gang, How is everyone ? Bet your all having fun doing Christmas shopping ?!?!?!?
Again really sorry we haven't been on the old Face Book in so long it was banned in China so we had to wait till we got to Hong Kong to access it!
Right since we last updated are blog I am going have to try & date back 2 weeks to what we have been up to , it all just murges into one big confusion in my head!
After Shanghai we headed to a place called Xi'an which is also a city in China not as well know as Beijing & Shanghai obviosuly but still a big city! The main reason this place has become a big city is due to the terricotta warriors , check it out on the internet it was pretty amazing , basically it was found by a farmer about 40 years ago & when they dug it up it looked amazing & they still digging. We actually meet the farmer who dug it all up & got a book signed by him!
Next we had to catch a day train for 14 hours to go visit the Three gorges , it was a long train journey but we ended up watching DVDS on this old school Chinese DVD player thing, we watched a few ok films and then we watched ......................... The FLOOD , don't ever waste your life watching this film it is terrible but it made us all laugh about how crap it was for a good few hours! After another good few Pot noddles & all of us cough with chesty coughs & runny noses we were very pleased to get of the train & have a long a waited shower in our motel.
The next morning we headed on the bumpy coach freezing cold , think I lost feeling in my toes that night & headed for the boat which we was going to be living on for the next 2 nights to visit the three gorges. We found out when we got on the boat that they didn't have any heating , we could have all cried as it was so cold , so we put on as many clothes as we could fit in , I ended up walking like I had pooed myself as I had so many layers on I couldn't move! Dave , myself , Fi , Jack Hannah & Rob decided if we drank enough beer it might warm us up so that is what we did on the boat the first evening.
The following morning Dave & I woke up feeling pretty rough with sore throats & chesty coughs from being so cold & there was no hot water so we couldn't shower for 3 days. But when we looked out the window & saw the beautiful few of the three gorges it made us feel loads better , truley was breath taking & the photos will never show how good it really does look!
After another night on the boat & a very early morning getting up in the cold we heading back to the motel to take a 5 hour coach to train station followed by another over night train. I couldn't sleep on this train it was so noisey & when ever I did fall a sleep someone would Hawk right near my bed loudly & it would wake me up!
When we arrived in Yhangshuo the next village it was lovely little place surrounded by small mountains & a beautiful river. We really enjoyed this place & had a fun night out for Narj's birthday well it was good paart from the chinese men trying to grop the girls lol! Kept asking Dave if they could have his women! Also had a pretty bike ride for 3 hours one day , poor Dave bruised his bum though as the seats were really hard!
The best thign that we did here though was the cooking lesson , it cost 10 pounds & we cooked a lovely 3 dishes of sweet & sour pork , dumplings & mixed veg! Def going cook for anyone who will let me when I get home. The only part that was bad was going to the food market .................... oh I felt sick as there was a fried dog that still look alive on the table having it's head chopped off , big fluffy bunny rabbits & cats as well :(
Then we took our final night train with the group to Hong Kong & we was glad it was slightly warmer when we reached Hong Kong still not tanning weather & need a jumper but alot warmer then what we have been used to of late!
After escaping tipping our tour guide ( as he was pants) we headed to the science museum with Hannah , Dave loved it as there was a whole eclectrical section & Bill would have loved it too as there was a water meter testing section! We have seen the great buddha & watched the hong Kong light show which was like the photo showen above!
There is alot to do in Hong Kong & we both enjoying it but it is really expensive. Dave how ever is over the moon on some speakers he has brought for his ipod they are smaller then a tennis ball & really loud , we have sent the other ones home! I brought a t shirt that says " Bruce Lee is my home boy" lol
We are currently now trying to upload some photos on the net as it might actually work here as Hong Kong so high tech!
Heading to Vietnam in 2 days so will update again when we reach Vietnam!
Much Love
