One year in the afterlife, love, delays, life goes on. British!
So I find myself once again on my back looking at the summer through to frame of my small bedroom window. One year post my little encounter with an automobile and my leg is on the mend once and for all. That is if you don't count the cosmetic disparity from left to right. A brief stay in the North Mid, more general anaesthetic and some power tools have removed the metal work from the bone leaving me ready to build strength and get my life back on track. Whilst this has delayed my departure date and left me with a feeling of disappointment in modern medicine and its ability to 'fix' things there have been some positives beneath the fog.
I find myself more and more infatuated by my partner of but a few months. So much so that plans are changing on a daily basis. My departure from society and life as I know it is pushed back now not just months but years. Only time will tell what the future will bring but as it stands I now have a companion for my trip and have much work to do preparing another bike and some more equipment whilst my own sits idle in the garage. My big adventure is fast becoming our big adventure and I relish in the idea of having companionship and loving support along the way. The fear of the immensity of such an undertaking diminishes and together the whole ordeal becomes just another little jaunt in the countryside.
