hi guys well since the last blog we have travelled for 28 hours down the coast of Brazil. We left Porto Seguro on an 11 hour coach to Vitoria, then got on another coach to Rio for 9 hours. It should´t have taken so long but the coach blew a tire on the motorway and had to have another put on! then from Rio we got on another coach to Paraty arriving there just after midnight.

Paraty was a really pretty place with lots of colonial buldings and the streets are all cobbled which was fun with our wheely backpacks (but sill haven´t had to put them on our backs yet!!) There are also no cars allowed into the Historical centre so its nice to walk around without the threat of death looming over your shoulders (these S.American drivers are mad.) We stayed in another hostel with lots of pets, she had dogs and cats and a new kitten which another girl from the hostel found on the street and just brough in! We went on a schooner around the bays of Paraty which was beautiful and got in some snorkelling too. A little girl fell off the boat and a woman jumped in to save her. She was ok though!

Left Paraty yesterday and got on a bus to Angra dos Reis and the got on a boat to Ilha Grande, which is a small island again with no cars and great beaches. We´re staying in a pousada in a 6 girl dorm... not good, very little room once again. There are mosquitos everywhere and no matter what we do were still getting bitten relentlesly!!! It was the woman who owns the pousada´s birthday yesterday so she had a party which was good. Today we went to an amazing beach on another boat! an hour away and had to trek through a jungle for 20mins to get to it! We saw monkeys on the way and took pics until janine got scared and said they looked like they were gonna attack us! The sand was so soft and white it even squeaked when you walked on it! The sea was rough... huge waves great for surfers but not for us! Tonight there is a reggae band playing at a bar just near the pousada so we are gonna go and rep Jamaica!!!
