Sorry its been a while since i have updated but its been go go go since arriving in Sydney!Anyway here goes,
Local Beer: Tooheys New
Slogan: 'The real reason the poms visit Oz'
Tastes like: Any other beer
Price: About 5 dollars for a schooner (3/4 pint)
We landed in Sydney on the 16th Dec expecting warm hot sunshine and got a bagful of COLD and Wet weather for our first couple of days which was very annoying! The weather soon picked up and we met up with Heather, Danesh and Doherty 'the yarn teller' aswell as Wilko and his mates and proceeded to get smashed (not sensible as i got lost on the way home for two hours). After getting that stupidness out the system we enjoyed the sights like the opera house, the bridge etc. before spending xmas eve on an all you can drink cruise round the harbour which was cool.
Xmas day was spent on Bondi Beach in the hot sun which i found really strange, not totally sure yet that i enjoyed it but it was definately an experience!Little Lee, Jennings, Amecia and Christopher Bell later joined the rest of us just in time for new year which we spent in the Botanical gardens watching the fireworks which was awesome, and we also watched the cricket at the SCG including Englands fine loss in the 20 twenty match. We were sitting with the Barmy army and the banter was good although the Aussies were a definate 2nd in the noise stakes!
Overall Sydney i found is an amazing city that i could possibly quite happily stay for longer, there is so much to do and so many things to see and bars to visit, from the places i have been so far i have found it to be the most like living in London (with similar weather patterns at times). It was also great to see everyone and meet up though there was also some people i wished were here also!
Anyway we now head up the east coast to Cairns, but i will next update in Brisbane. Our first stop will be surf camp for a night so that will be cool. Hope everyone is good keeping well, keep in contact,
Rat x
