Today started way to early as my phone/alarm clock decided to spring ahead yesterday, although Queensland does not. So Nancy and I woke up for our whale watching adventure this morning at 5:00 am instead of 6:00 am. On the bright side at least we were early. The captain, Peter, drove the shuttle bus and asked everyone where they were from. After we told him Washington we learned that he had friends that worked for PDZA. Small world, huh. We arrived at the marina and boarded a beautiful catamaran called the Blue Dolphin. The weather was making the water a little choppy but nothing Nancy and I couldn't handle. We were served breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. It was light finger foods but perfect for an afternoon on the water. We saw many humpback whales during our adventure but we were following three adults that
were playing and having a grand old time. Every so often we lose them during our chase and they would turn up right by the boat. It was a lot of fun though I did get a little bit to much sun. Tomorrow we start making our way up the coast. It is a lot of driving but we should hit a beach or two along the way.
