Today started way to early as my phone/alarm clock decided to spring ahead yesterday, although Queensland does not. So Nancy and I woke up for our whale watching adventure this morning at 5:00 am instead of 6:00 am. On the bright side at least we were early. Today we left from Southport on the Gold Coast and headed north to Hervey Bay. It was sad to leave our new friends and nice accommodations at the Aquarius but with whale watching booked for tomorrow it was time to move on. I would say anyone staying on the Gold Coast should check out the Aquarius for a great travel experience. Today Nancy and I spent the day at the Australia Zoo. It is amazing how much of a presence Steve Irwin still has there. He lives on in signs, statues and his conservation efforts. We watched the the live croc feeding with the Irwin family. Today was a special treat for the audience as the croc was feed a whole dead pig. Today was a quiet sit by the pool type of day. We went to a near by shopping center and picked up some new clothes. Meet some nice people at the hostel we are staying at and so far still have our room to ourselves. Tomorrow we think we are headed out to the Australia Zoo. Also I got an email from PDZA today. Our new tiger cub is named Dumai.
