Our last stop in Malaysia is the city of Penang, on a small island off the West coast. We travelled her yesterday by bus from tehe Cameron Highlands, and after a brief change of bus at Ipoh, we were on the ferry across to town.
Easy. We have got this travelling lark down to a T now - it's just a pity our time is nearly at end! This morning we visited the fort. A rather interesting experience was to unfold as we were greeted by a Malaysian in Colonnial Military Uniorm, and then given a pocket history of the area by a rather large lady that looked more like she was dressed for the Wild West of America, and not here! Dan had his picture taken with a genuine musket (replica) and we toured the grounds.
Along the way we were treated to a mock prison cell, complete with black prisoner, and a recreation of their camping equipment, which included a rather well made plastic tent. Not particularly authentic, but interesting nonetheless!
My personal highlight were the cannons - nuff said.
With this much excitement already today, God only knows what is left to come!
