We arrived in Kuching this afternoon, and I think I am going to really like our time in this part of the world. Sometimes you can just sense that something incredible is afoot - and flying over the jungles earlier, an excitement gripped me that I haven't felt for a while. Looking out of the small plane window, all you could see was an apparent neverending forest of green, occassionally broken up by wide, winding rivers, working their way through the landscape like wrinkles on a middle aged ladies face. Looking out, I felt like I just wanted to launch myself out and get straight into it - Ray Mears style!
But instead, logic took hold and we landed in the conventional manner and made our way to the city. There is so many things to look forward to and places to go, it's all a little too much for my mind to take in, instead preferring to contemplate it silently, in awe of all our possibilities.
We know one thing for sure - this part of the trip is going to ROCK!
