Ah - to see blue skies.
I can keep it bottled up no longer - the weather here is rubbish.
I could continue to pretend that we are in paradise, turning slowly golden and frolicing in the waves. But we are not. Instead we are being permanentlt pummelled by bullets of raindrops, and have to avoid lake size puddles when we are walking down the road.
Driving to Nadi today was like driving a submarine, the rain so hard at some points we couldn't see past the windscreen, let alone avoid the trecharous divets and puddles hiding potentially dangerous surprises.
It's not fun. I didn't even have to wear a raincoat in New Zealand, and it's Autumn there, but so far in Fiji I have had to have it on me two days. The rain I can handle to an extent, because it's a tropical island, but there is only so much kidding yourself you can do. If there was more to do it may be OK, but unless we just eat and sleep, you have to be out in it - we've been to the cinema twice here just to pass the time!
Tomorrow we will hopefully head to an island to see if that's any better. It will at least be a change of scenery and besides, wet sand means you can make awesome sand castles!
