Arrived in cuzco at 5am, so headed to a hotel with the costa rica boys, which ended up being a real nice one. After showers etc had a look round the town and sorted out a machupicchu trek. No chance of getting on the inca trail, but there are so many alternative trails to machupicchu for half the cost. Ended up doing the Inca Jungle Trek, and had an awesome group to do it with. Since us and the Costa Ricas (Carlos, Paulo, & Mosqui) were heading the same way; we shared a taxi across the boarder from chile to Tacna (peru). Travel is definatly easier when we have our own spanish interpreters! Arrived at the bus station in Tacna to found out that the town was celebrating world tourist day, so being the only tourists around we were given pisco sours (local cocktail), and lots of people wanted to take photos of us, and the local tv stati...

Had a really nice bus ride across to San Pedro, got to drive over salt lakes, but very expensive. Absolutly loved San Pedro, very cool little town in the middle of the desert and got to see some amazing scenery. Had a bit of a mare with the first hotel though, the son of the old lady who ran it was such a dick, we ended up leaving after the first night to find somewhere eles. He actually acused Mark of stealing his comb that he'd left in the shower block - WTF! ...

After finding a room, showering, and having some breakfast we felt refreshed from our night bus. It was a beautiful day so we walked up the nearby hill, Cerro San Bernardo (bout 1000 steps!) for an awesome view over the city. After our walk we headed back to the bus station to book tickets to San Pedro (chile), only to find out that the next avaliable bus was 5 days away. So the next day we decided to head out to San Lorenzo (nearly town) for a couple of days. ...

Arrived in Corrienties bout 6am in the morning and had the day here before we got on another night bus to Salta, so left out luggage in storage at bus station and explored the town. Corrienties must be the sister town for Katikati as it is also a mural town, so had to get a photo of mark next to one of the murals. Nice town to spend the day at and the weather was good, which is a bonus when you have no home. Enjoyed a couple of afternoon beers then it was back...
