Met the other 5 that were doing the masi mara bolt on to the safari (alex, burkie, ray-ray, lucy, & heather). Straight away had a connection with one of the girls (burkie), knew 2 of her brothers and her mum plays tennis with my aunty, nz is such a small world. Then we took off at 9am, first stop the giraffe park.
Got to feed the giraffes, but past on the opportunity for a giraffee kiss (put a pellet in your lips and the giraffee eats it from there). And learnt a little bit about the giraffees.
Next stop was to the elephant orhange, where the resuce young abadoned elephants from the wild and look after them until they are big enough to survive back in the wild. A bit too touristy, can´t wait to see them in the wild. There were heaps of babbons and pomba around the carpark.
Then it was onto lake naivasha via a stop off at the view point of the rift valley where we got attacked by biting ants (a taste of the incests to come!). The weather was awesome once we arrived at lake naivasha and we went for a boat ride for some hippo spotting up to Elsamere (joy adamsons - a past famous author´s place) for some afternoon tea and to meet some more of the group that we were joining and our tour leader (tash), our driver (george), our truck (ehore), and our tent for the trip (number 14). Once again, world is so small as I knew one of the guys from uni (bodie).
