After getting up at 5:30 am (yes, it´s still dark at that time), packing the tent away (definatly a technique getting it to fit back in its bag), and eating breakfast we were on the road to the masi mara for our first game drive.
Arrived at Masi Mara National Park in the afternoon and had an awesome game drive. Saw 4 of the big 5 (elephant, buffalo, lion, and rhino), the leopard is still to come. And saw lots of zebra and wilderbeast that had migrated from the serengiti.
The next morning we were up early again for a morning game drive through the park. Got to have a walk along the river and saw lots of hippos and one huge croc. But the highlight of the day would have to be the lion cubs we saw. We had the truck parked about 5 metres away from them and the mother lion on the other side of the truck didn´t seem to care at all.
Then stopped in at a masi village on the each of the park to see how the masi live and hear about how there diet consists of milk, meat, and blood...yummy!! It was cool to seem them dance and in there traditional dress but you could definatly tell it was put on for the tourists. Also got the hard sell at the end to buy all there crafts.
Absolutly loved our first game park, can´t wait for the next one.
