Slam in The Lamia
We started the day with a breakfast of Dougals from the Magic Roundabout (or kataifi as they're known here) washed down with greek coffee. The former is like a deep-fried shredded wheat packed with chopped nuts and drenched in honey. The latter is very finely ground coffee cooked in a small brass pot over a high flame, served in an espresso-size cup with a glass of water. The result is a very strong, grainy coffee that leaves a thick residue in the bottom of the cup from which it is traditional to tell your fortune. Apparently, we have a lot of hills ahead of us...
...and so it proved, with an 850m climb starting from sea-level making a very hard morning's work (with a bonus 560m hill in the afternoon). At least there was a long swooperoo through the dramatic scenery of Mt Parnassus national park to finish.
Day 87.2km (Total 2542.4km)
