We got picked up for our elephant trek a bit after 9am by an ok looking van, which was a relief as we were starting to worry they were not going to show or that when they did our pick up van was going to be old and practically breaking down! It took over an hour to get there, when we arrived there were a lot of other tours there and you could already see a lot of elephants. On our way down to the elephants we bought a basket of bananas and sugar cane and fed some of them which was scary as their trunks are very strong and rough skinned, but they were harmless. To our right there were elephants doing tricks including painting pictures and playing football, this was good but people kept randomly clapping when nothing was happening which made us feel we were missing something lol.
After that we went on the elephant trek and rode an elephant through the river and up and down the mountain. It was quite scary as there wasn't much holding you in place! We then took an Ox cart down to the riverside where we then had a bamboo raft ride down the river which was gorgeous. After that we got on the bus which we thought was taking us back to our hotel but we were then taken to a butterfly and flower farm for 30 mins, we weren't too keen but we had no choice and the flowers were quite pretty. The guide was late picking us up by about 20 mins so we were not that happy with him, he had taken a couple to see the long necked women but when another couple that had paid for it found out they demanded to be taken there too, he was about to then leave the rest of us to take them but we all stood together and demanded to go along too. Team effort!
