Just-Imagine!
Monday 8th Dec. Day 1 in Disneyland - Liam was up early, surprise surprise! After a good breakfast and dressed in thermals we crushed onto the bus to head off to the parks. We headed to "discoveryland" area and our first ride was interactive with Buzz lightyear laser blades shooting at targets while spinning in a car - Liam thought it was great, I think Rob had fun too, but Liam got the highest score for hitting targets! The next choice of ride unfortunately Liam was too short (some have height restrictions), however on day one we managed to fit in 5 rides, with the longest queue wait being about 25 - 30 minutes. It did drizzle most of the day but with spray jackets it wasn't too unpleasant. We had been told that it was difficult to buy food in the park so we scabbed some bread & croissants at breakfast and had them for lunch with a coffee, but there were many eating places, cafe's or resturants in the parks that we could have bought food from. We got to watch the xmas parade again with a better view - we were so close that Goofey patted Rob on the shoulder, then we found pizza for tea. Liam's best ride for the day was the roller coaster through Big Thunder mountain. I think I enjoyed that one also.
It gets dark around around 5.30 pm and sunrise isn't until about 8 am so the days are quite short.
Tuesday 9th Dec. Day 2 at Disneyland - up and ready to head off for opening time at 10.00am to look around Walt Disney Studio park today. First choice was the new Ratatouille show - the line was huge, after standing with no movement we discovered with our non existant french there were technical problems so we managed to work the fast pass for later. The next choice of ride was "the Hollywood Tower of Terror"....it was a ride that went up like an elevator lift and doors opened at the top of the tower for a glimpse over the park then it suddenly dropped, I'm still not sure if my stomach is in the right place yet! The next choice was another roller coaster only to find out it was closed due to "technical problems". We still had 1.5 hours for our fast pass ticket so we joined a line with wait time of 50 minutes (the longest yet) only to discover it also was held up with technical problems again, so we ducked out of the line just in time for the Ratatouille ride - it was amazing - with 3D glasses on and sitting in a car you felt like the size of a mouse running under the tables and over the benches being chased around a kitchen, when the bottle of champagne was opened you felt drops of it fall, and under the oven you could feel the heat of it cooking. With not much left to see in the Studio Park we went back into the Disney Park again and went on some little kids rides, through Pinnoccio's workshop and It's a small world which Liam enjoyed and they were amazing to see as an adult also. After tea in the village street we headed back into the park so I could get some, night photos. It felt really late with it being dark but it wasn't even 6pm, Liam was wanting to go back to the hotel, but I noticed the crowd gathering in front of the castle, and not wanting to miss anything I joined. After chatting to people standing near me I discovered there was going to be a laser light show & fireworks on the castle. After tolerating Liam with "how much longer" his comment after the show was "that was awesome!" And it was AMAZING with lights and images, projected onto the castle with music and characters from the movie Frozen and an Xmas theme, then with fire works thrown in - AMAZING & FABULOUS.

Pam Batten It sure looks cold Raelene! But then Europe for Christmas 2014, is going to be something very special. Glad you did manage to keep Liam amused until the 'Light Show'. Definitely worth the wait! The photos are 'AMAZING".
Shirley Billett Wow - you are braver than me going on some of those rides!! Sounds fantastic though. Liam is so very lucky to have the experience. Your pics really show how great a time you are all having. Love the laser show - that does look stupendously amazing! Keep enjoying yourselves. Love ya x
