Rachie and Joey's Round The World Adventure!
Hi Everyone!
Finally got around to updating my journal - sorry its been a little delayed!
Boston was a great place to start - we had a good four days of sightseeing and enjoying the sunshine! Of course, we had to start our trip by watching England play...shame about the result! We made a quick exit from the place we were watching it too as we were surrounded by Portugese fans....
Boston Common and the freedom trail was our first stop which were both pretty cool! We also took a trip to the Cheers Bar - it is totally different to the programme set up inside but it was still pretty cool to say we'd been there. The bouncer gave us a little hassle when we wanted to go in, but the good old passports and our grand old age of 23 soon got rid of his power trip :) We only wanted a diet coke!
We took a trip around the city too on a car/boat! We basically did half of the city on land, and then at the flick of a switch headed into the Charles River (if anyone saw topgear when they tried to convert a car into a boat, they could have learnt a thing or two here!) I even got to drive the boat...she asked if anyone wanted a go, and being me I had my hand up like the rest of the five year olds on the trip :) Why should they have all the fun??
Whale watching was awesome! We were really up close to the whales as it was feeding time, so i got a few good pics of their tales splashing in the water (they moved too fast!). We also took a tour to Harvard (the uni I turned down of course hehe). The campus was huge! We latched onto a Japenese tour group to get a free tour of the place which was cool, although we stood out slightly...
Thats Boston all sorted, would definately recommend it for a short visit! Now we're off to Toronto! :)
