Copied over from livejournal:
OMG it's so hot today! Thank goodness for air conditioned internet cafes!
Tuk tuk is seriously the only way to travel. It's so much fun. Also utterly terrifying, but hey I survived.
Having a great time here in Bangkok, although I am fast getting tired of the endless parade of street hawkers and tuk tuk drivers trying to get me to buy things. If I wanted to buy something I'd approach you, not the other way around. Still, Thailand is great, and really quite beautiful. There's also this weird thing where you can be on a bustling, noisy, traffic filled street one minute, but then step through some gates and suddenly be in some temple grounds enjoying the peace and quiet.
Joining my tour tonight, so not sure how much free time I'm going to have for internets, but hopefully will be on in a few days.
Not from livejournal:
Street food is yummy. Had Pad Thai for lunch yesterday in a little cafe, and then chicken noodle soup last night sat in a street cafe. These places would be shut down in five minutes in the UK for violating health and safety regulations in everyway possible, but here they're the norm. And the food they have is so good. Also, Thai supermarkets are a lot of fun. 7/11s are everywhere, but I found my first actual supermarket today and it was very cool. If only I had more room in my backpack...
On another note, why did I pack so much stuff? Looking through it all it all seems fairly essential, but even so, my bag should not be that full! Forget the back pain it would have caused me; I should have just bought a bigger backpack!
Anyways, all this talk of food has made me hungry, so I'm off in search of lunch. Laters!
