Week two began with a lot of sleeping and relaxing. Finally good weather! A lot of the oz intro grop stayed on in the same hostel which was nice. Most people hit coogee beach but myself and new found friend Stephen George Foster decided to tackle the famous costal walk to Bondi Beach. Jordan and Marrk were also meant to come but decided they preferred to soak up some rays. So off we set the only two adventurers...2 hours later it was not so fun! Finally we made it and it was so worth it to see the beautiful deserted beaches along the way. After rewarding ourselves with some chicken and chips we opted to get the bus back..which prooved easier said than done! On monday daytime me and Ellen shopped in Sydney city centre walking about 5 miles trying to find a mysterious shop called rubi shoes.
Monday night was Canadian Jasons 21st birthday so we had a great night out for that. I was sad to say goodbye to Ellen who was flying to Darwin and on tuesday the canadians and Sean set off in the car they bought for 1000 dollars! Tuesday night those of us who were left tagged along on the part bus with the new group to the gaff.
By Wednesday I had finally decided on my further travel plans. I booked the oz experience bus which will take me the whole way up the east coast to cairns and I booked the must do package of frazer island and the whitsunday islands.
On Thursday I packed up my stuff and headed to bondi beach to spend one night there. I was by myself and the weather wasnt great. The shops are gorgeous though and it took a lot of self control not to spend! There is not very much to do in bondi but i got talking to some girls from newry. It was an early night.
On Friday (after a quick detour back to coogee to pick up some money i had left in the safe (complete nightmare!) I got the tain to engadine to stay with the Murray family, friends of Auntie Nuala and Uncle Maurice. I met thier daughters Jenna and Lauren and Laurens baby Enoch. On the Saturday we went to Stamwell park and met John thier son who surfs down there. We watched the hangliders and walked on the beach. Later we went to another town Cronulla and met Matts nephew Lee from ballymena, his wife Cathera who he met when travelling in thailand and their 18 month year old Joshua. Joshua is adorable and has just learnt to walk. We spent all day Sunday with them aswell. Was a really great weekend!
