Despite Geoff's effort to not have pancakes, the lure of freshly made ones was again too great this morning. This time they came laden with maple syrup and chocolate sauce. I think I'm going to have to get the recipe for when we get home.
We were meeting up with Kirsty (who was passing through on her way to Melbourne) later in the afternoon so we decided to have a bit of culture and visit the reclining Buddha at Wat Pho Temple. Our transport of choice this week has been the river taxi which is cheap and much more enjoyable than the exhaust fume laden roads.
Wat Pho is a pretty cool temple but the reclining Buddha was stunning, housed undercover and 46 metres in length in glistening gold with mother of pearl soles - it was breathtaking and worth all of the 50 baht we paid to see it.
We met Kirsty on Khoasan road and had quite a few beers and more than a few laughs and listened to some rather novel renditions of some well known songs - I'm not sure the Thai lady quite pulled off 'I want to break free'.
The night concluded with some successful bartering for the tuk tuk ride home (which is an experience).
So off to bed ready for a lazy morning beside the pool, with more river taxi action planned for the afternoon and maybe some ping pong tomorrow night. Bon voyage Kirsty x
