Hey guys this blog is on koh tao we were only here for 2 nights but we wish we were there longer. To get to koh tao we got on two mini busses that took us to surrutani then we got the night ferry from there to koh tao, we met a couple of people on the mini bus that live in Australia called Jordan and James, Jordan was originally from America and James was from South Africa. It was lucky we met them as it meant we had people to talk to as we had to wait about 4 hours at the port for our ferry to leave at 11pm so the four of us sat at the port where the food stalls were and got dinner and had a beer I got my usual crispy pork and rice.
We boarded the ferry about half 10 and it was so weird being on it it was literally just mattresses all next to each other on the floor so I was lucky to be in between dave and Jordan and not a complete stranger which would of being awkward waking up face to face with them.
I didn't have a good sleep at all on the ferry although the was fans on me I still felt hot and stuffy and agitated all night, we arrived in koh tao about 7 or 8 and jumped in the taxi to our hostel and when I got out at the hostel I realised I didn't have my purse dave went back and found the guy but he denied seeng it and said it wasn't in the taxi, but I got money out of it and paid so we all know that's a lie, but hey he can have it karma will take its course just annoying because it had mine and daves drivers licences in and all my cards and £60 so I had to call the bank and stop it all and reorder new cards and licence I'm just hoping they come in time before cheuks family go back to Hong Kong as they are going to take them with them and I will get them from them in August when I go there. As you can imagine I was very tired and annoyed at myself at this point and just wanted a shower and a sleep but we couldn't check in for a few ours so we went and treated ourselves to a proper breakfast instead of our jam and toast on the beach. We it a egg and bacon sandwich but there bacon is pathetic here they give u one bit and its the thickness off a finger nail its tiny I miss bacon sandwiches from home.
After breakfast and a walk along the beach it was time for us to check in but we couldn't go in the room because it was too hot due the fact they had a power cut on the island which is really common in thailand they have them all the time so we had to sit outside on the table and chairs with a beer and a curry sausage which was so good and dave read his book and I chilled on the ipad till finally a 7 the power came on so we could get ready and showered and went for dinner, we were meant to of met James and Jordan for a drink after but we couldn't find the bar they were in and we were tired so we headed back to the hostel for an early night as we has a snorkelling trip booked for the next day.
The snorkelling trip we went on is amazing they took us too sharks bay where I was really hoping that I would get to see and swim with sharks but unfortunately I didn't, but lucky dave saw one that the tour guide found and showed him I was so jealous I wanted to see it!! We also went snorkelling in a few other bays, the water was so clear it was so amazing you could see so many different types of fish coral and you could even hear the fish eating underwater it was an amazing experience. They also take you to a private island which was beautiful it was the nicest place to snorkel and me and DAve went up the mountain to the top of the view point dave went ahead to take pictures as I didn't think I would make it up as I was too to, but somehow I did get to the top and he helped me climb all the large rocks and boulders so I could see the view and it was breath taking you could see all around you the island and the sea and how the sea changes colours, if any of u haven't seen my pictures on Facebook of this yet you should, it was amazing. I think daves favourite part of the trip was the lunch they gave us on the boat it was rice with an egg on top and chicken like minced with basil and chilli, it was delicious to be fair I didn't expect that when its a free lunch on a boat.
When we got back from our snorkelling trip we relaxed for a couple of hours and then we went out for dinner again and then went to lotus bar for a free vodka soda and lime which we had been given a flyer for, we thought we might aswel free drink. It was so strong and disgusting we drank as much as we could of it and then went and met Jordan and James and the friends they came to meet from back home in South Africa on the island, it was a random night and cheap for me and dave. It was myself dave Jordan and James, another guy and hs gf who were staying in our hotel a couple o weeks before in koh lanta how random, then there was another guy called devon and his gf who apparently only decided a couple of days ago to come on holiday there to meet his friends, another girl who had flown to Thailand just for the weekend crazy! And another man called Cornell whose dads a billionaire the second richest man in South Africa, we googled him after net worth 4 billion makes u sick doesnt it ,he was on holiday with another girl travelling the islands on his yacht. But all this group were all friends and met in koh tao, and as u can imagine we got shots and laughing gas and everything paid or us all night by the rich guy which was a touch being a traveller you need it to be as cheap as possible and you can't get better than free!
We headed back to the hostel about 2/3 and and to up the next morning to get our boat to koh phangan. Miss you and love you all xxx
