Hello this blog is on koh Sumui, we got the boat here from koh phangnan, the port was literally round the corner fro. Our hostel and I want hungover on a boat for once I felt good woooo, so myself and Dave sat on the deck of the boat with our legs hanging over the side, it felt so nice to have the sun on me and felt he wind when the boat moved at the same time, the journey was only an hour but it see,ed to go much quicker than that. When we got off the boat at the port we jumped on a mini bus which was full of rude isralians that were trying to wind the taxi man up telling him they wanted it at a lower price and to just take them to the airport, when that's not where they wanted to go etc they were basically idiots. The area we were staying in was cheweng beach and we were staying in koh Sumui for 3 nights, we had booked hotel with a pool and a private bungalow but the only thing is the location wasn't great it was about a 10 - 15 min walk to the centre on the other side it was near all the food stalls so we had easier access to cheap food. We threw our bags in the room and went out for lunch we found a food stall selling chicken and rice so we want in there and ordered and she asked If we would like a small or Large portion, we were really hungry so we ordered the large each for and extra 20p each but she brought over like an extra small portion but charged us a large so we didn't go back again. We then spent the afternoon getting in and out of the pool and sitting on deck chairs outside, until it was time to chill out for a minute before getting ready to go out. We went and had some dinner in a food stall, pork and rice in a red sauce with half a boiled egg it was so good and then went back to the hotel and sat outside and drank half a bottle of sangsom which is there Thai rum and soda water with a splash of coke and then went out and walked into the town to go to ark bar where we had gone last time we went to koh Sumui, we sat down on the table and deck chairs on the beach nd ordered a Jug of beer and a shisha pipe and looked out into the sea. It's expensive in ark bar we had spent about £15 but it was always a good night. We also got speaking to a couple of Aussie guys and a French girl and had a dance and drink with them until about 1am when everyone wanted to go to green mango (which is the club there) when we was walking then I realised I couldn't be bothered to go and wanted to go back I didn't want to drink anymore and neither did Dave so when we all walked there me and Dave walked round once and then straight back out loosing everyone and sneaking off to go home, looking back now I really don't understand why we didn't just say we were going and say goodbye, it obviously seemed like more of a fun way a the time.
On the way back we noticed the food stall we had dinner at was still open at like 2am and we were hungry so we decided to get a dish to takeaway, they had no rice so we went for a duck noodle soup and went to eat it when we got back and to my disappointment it was discusting, Dave had the pork and wanton soup from her for dinner which was lovely so I don't understand why this one was so different obviously because the broth had been on all day or something.
The next morning we woke up and I think I still felt a bit rough and it was raining bad so we spent the morning in bed and there was a power cut which started at about 6am as the fan went off in the room then we went and grabbed some lunch at a food stall, we got fried rice with chicken and the man working there was rambling on about how the women on the stall next to him was bad mouthing him and all this, but he was basically doing the same. We then spent the afternoon around the pool until the power luckily came back on about 6pm, they have a lot of power cuts on the islands. That night we didn't do much we went back to the same women for dinner (the pork and rice) and then walked into the centre to go and book our train back to Bangkok where we had to go next to sort out our visas to china. We asked around in all different travel shops for their price and then went with the cheapest one but they couldn't fit us on for the day we wanted so we had to get the one the next day and extend our booking in our hotel by one night. The next day we went on a half day trip around koh Sumui where we saw big Buddha and some others ( I don't know there names) and we saw the grand father and grandmother rocks, and a waterfall. We then put our clothes in the laundry to get them all cleaned and relaxed for the afternoon before drinking sangsom at the hotel again and going out for a drink back to ark bar where we got beer and some shisha, we saw the Ozzie and French ppl we met for a min but they left as thy were getting up early to go to koh Tao for the day. We got talking to a couple from London in ark bar who were nice thy we're a bit older I think they said 30 and came to koh Sumui on holiday as its where they met each other a couple of years before. An Indian family sitting next to us had bought a beer tower and not finished it so gave it to us when they left which was nice (don't worry mum it's like a plastic barrel with a pump like in a bar so you can't put anything in it to spike it so we knew it was safe. We then headed to green mango and had a beer with them, that they bought us which was nice and headed back after because to be honest I didn't really like it there I don't like clubs I like bars with music where you can sit down or have a dance it was a bit much for me.
The next day it rained again all day, and then that night we went to walk into the town for dinner when we noticed a market and went in there to see what they did and had an amazing dinner we got half a chicken which they cut up for us with rice and a chilli and a soy sauce to put on it, it was delicious after that I wanted to try the spring rolls that they had so I got a couple but i was disappointed as they weren't that nice. We then went back and had an early night before we had to leave in the morning to go to Bangkok.
