Hey everyone this ones about koh lanta, it will be boring
because to be honest we didn't do too much here it was a time to relax for 5 days. We got the ferry from koh phi phi to koh lanta it was only about an hour but was such a horrible boat ride as I was to hungover from my birthday night before to deal with the motion of the sea, not even the doughnut and chicken wrap I got from the bakery on the way made me feel better, I felt so dizzy I basically had to keep my eyes closed the whole boat ride. When we to off the boat myself dave and chris jumped in a taxi and of it to take us to our hotel called good days.
When we checked in the room dave and chris went and sat by he pool and I went to bed for another hour or two to try and feel better and it worked thankfully dave came and woke me up for lunch.
As you all know we're on a budget so we don't spend loads of money on food we usually eat thai street food which is the cheapest and the tastiest food much nicer than most thai resteraunts that would charge you double for it. Western food is the expensive food in thailand that I do have a craving for as a treat every now and again and dave woke me up to see go for lunch in the hotel because we couldn't be bothered to walk anywhere and I soon as I saw the menu I knew exactly what I was getting, burger and chips and it was delicious!!!!
That night we went to. Thai resteraunt and chris got pad thai and me and dave got soy chicken noodles, it was the most disgusting food I had had in thailand I tryed to eat as much as I could but it was gross, we didn't go back there again. After dinner we went and sat on a deck going out into the sea on the beach a the hotel we were staying. And had a beer and watched the sunset. We were all so tired we went back and went to sleep at something stupid like 8pm.
Everyday we were in koh lanta we did the same thing, laid by the pool in the day and sun bathed and every night we did the same too, walked the food stall down the road and got pork on rice in a sweet red sauce and half a boiled egg it was so good and dave loved her pork and wanton noodle soup with fish balls and pork balls too. It was annoying though because she was only ever open in the evening not for lunch so at lunch we would go to 7 11 (the local like co op kind of shop that are everywhere in thailand) and get two ham and cheese croissants toasted, they were so good were not as greedy now though if I get it for lunch I just get one. And for breakfast everyday we just had the usual bread and jam although that's something I need to cut down on and one of the reasons along with alcohol for my weight gain, 5 slices of bread is probably a bit too much for breakfast isn't it ha I should probably reduce it to two.
And at night we would always go on the decking the 3 days chris was there and like I said earlier look out too sea and drink beer, apart from the second night where we got a bottle of Samsong (thai rum) and soda water and coke as mixers and we drank the whole bottle oooppppssss. We sat out on the decking till about 3am watching a storm it was so amazing to see we watched it for about 6 hours getting closer and closer to us and seeing all the lightning bolts hitting the sea until about 2am where the storm came right over our head and was lighting up everything around us it was crazy and so amazing to see we to drenched running back to our room though.
After 3 nights of being there it was time for chris o leave which felt a bit weird because he had been with us for the last 3 weeks but I was looking forward to being able to spend some time with dave going out and doing stuff by ourselves.
Me and dave decided to book n extra two nights in koh lanta and changed from. The aircon triple room the 3 of us were staying in to a fan bungalow with. Double bed it was such good value for the amount we paid. We literally did nothing but relax them two days, we went by the pool and walked along the beach in the day and watched a different film both nights at night we needed to wind down and relax and detox for a couple of days.
The next morning we got up to move on, today we were going to Phuket and had to get a boat from koh lanta to phi phi and then another boat from phi phi to Phuket so was only like a 5 hour trip which is short for us. I was a bit worried about getting on the boat from koh lanta to phi phi as there had been a storm again in the night and the sea was so choppy it was scaring me. But when we got to the port they put us on a speed boat instead of a normal on as they ride on the top of the water so I felt a lot better was a bumpy ride though. The speed boat took us to phi phi where we got off and got straight on the ferry to go to phuket, the ferry was lovely and surprisingly modern it had leather like boy racer bucket seats to sit in as your chair ha. Miss you all and love you all lots, the next blog will be from phuket xxx
