Rachel and Sion Go Down Under
Katherine Gorge was our next stop in Nitmiluk National Park. In the dry season you can canoe and swim up the 13 gorges and the water is clear. As it is the wet season there is an increased chance of saltwater crocodiles because of the higher water level so we took a boat trip of the first gorge. The gorge is very impressive with high cliffs on either side. We stopped a couple of times along the route to take short walks to see some Aboriginal rock art and a spectacular waterfall feeding the river. On our return journey we were lucky to see two freshwater crocodiles swimming along the edges of the river.
