This morning we got ready to leave the hostel and walked to the bus stop. We are heading to Dreamworld and WhiteWater World today. Dreamworld is a theme park and WhiteWater World is a water park. The bus stop was packed with people as the bus we need to catch goes to all the other parks like Sea World, Movie World and Wet n Wild Water World. Plus all the kids have broken up from school now for their summer holidays. Our bus was at 9.15am but it soon got full with people so we had to wait for the next one. It was a 50 minute bus journey to Dreamworld. We arrived and went straight to the prepaid office. As we both have the Aussie Specialist cards we got entry into both parks free of charge. Normally this would cost $85.00 for both. We put our swimwear into a locker for later and then headed round the theme park. We went through the Gold Rush and went on the Thunder River Rapids. We travelled down a foamy water track past the Gold Rush Country, speeding up to 45 km/h through the turbulent rapids. We then went on the Rocky Hollow Log Ride. We cruised around a watercourse in hollowed out logs and then climbed the aqueduct and plunged down the ramp at 50km/h. We both got very wet on this ride. Lucky it was sunny lol. Afterwards we headed to Tiger Island and saw white and gold Bengal Sumatran tigers. They were so adorable. We then went on the Mick Doohan's Motocoaster - The first Aussie motorbike rollercoaster. We experienced the rush of motorcycle racing. Mick Doohan's Motocoaster features a fluid track with changes in elevation and high speed corners, reaching just over 72km per hour. We were held in by a unique restraint system in lifesize replicas of 500cc racing bikes. After this ride we went for some lunch and saw Dora The Explorer and Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Star. We went over to them and had our photo taken with them. After lunch we went on the Tower of Terror ride. Its one of the fastest rides in the world. The Tower's electro-magnetically powered 'Escape Pod' accelerates us to a massive 160kph in seven seconds before it climbs to almost 38 storeys high. Then we freefall backwards until we reach where we started. The last ride of the day was The Cyclone. It is one of the tallest, high speed gravity rollercoasters in the Southern Hemisphere. This ride had loads of high speed twists somersaulting us into 360 degree loops. It has been a great day at the theme park and we have enjoyed some really great rides. At 3pm we changed into our swimwear and walked into WhiteWater World. We went on many water rides. The Little Rippers which is the first duelling cannon bowl water ride in the world to turn in opposite directions, one clockwise and the other anti-clockwise to create the 'duelling' effect. Temple of Huey which is interwined between the tracks of Dreamworld's Cyclone Rollercoaster. The ride is a lethal combination of open and closed high speed drops, fast and slow sections and criss-crossing twists and turns on a inner tube. The Bro which is a Blue Ringed Octopus, spews us on sled mats head first and 16 metres high into a maze of thrilling twists and turns reaching speeds of around 50km per hour. We hurtle down one of eight, 120 metre tentacle tracks zipping around 270 degree turns. The Rip which launches us from the 16 metre tower into 12 metres of pitch black before blasting us into a massive whirlpool of high speed revolutions. We are sucked into the corkscrew core, blasted through a huge curtain of water before launching into the plunge pool. After we had been on these brilliant water rides we relaxed at the Cave of Waves which has been designed as a beach. I floated on the water in a rubber ring and we enjoyed the waves every 10 minutes. It was just like being at the beach in the sunshine. At 5pm the parks closed and we got a bus back to the hostel. We had a wicked time at the theme park and water park and it was all free. Loving it lol. In the evening we went glow in the dark bowling and we could bring our own alcohol along. It was so cool as you would never get anything like that in the UK. We did invite Craig, Mike, Rich and Spencer along but they were doing something else. Gina won both games.
