We got up at 8am ready to walk to the Sky Tower to pick up the Auckland Explorer Bus. It is a hop on and hop off sightseeing bus visiting 14 big attractions around Auckland. We got this free with our Explore New Zealand cards. Loving the freebies lol. We went from the Sky Tower to Victoria Park Market, Americas Cup Viaduct Harbour, ferry building, Bastion Point lookout and Mission Bay Beach and Kelly Tarltons Antartic Encounter and Underwater World. We stopped off here and got 50% off general admission. We saw stingrays, sharks, different kinds of fishes, crabs and we went on the snowcat ride to see the penguins. Afterwards we hopped back on the bus and went past the rose park gardens, Holy Trinity Cathedral and got off at the Auckland Museum. It was 3 levels and home to the largest and most valuable collection of Maori taonga in the world. The museum also had information about World War 1 and 2 and the Holocaust plus all of Auckland's living creatures. After we had looked around the museum we had some lunch and then got back on the bus. We went past Parnell Village, Civic Theatre and back to the Sky Tower. In the evening we found a Italian restaurant which was quite reasonable. Both Gina and I enjoyed spag bowl and garlic bread. We then chilled out back at the hostel as we start the Kiwi Experience tomorrow.
