Sunday : sunny

Today was going to be a rest day. Nothing planned as yet except food, beer and reading.

We had a good sleep, I was surprised it wasn't that noisy last night. We got up and went for a walk down the road. We went a little bit further this time with our walk. We stopped at a restaurant which had a sign out the front, advertising coffee. There was no coffee, we ordered dumplings and more roast duck. Unfortunately the meal wasn't very good at all, the best thing about it were the beers. It was a shame too the place looked better than last nights, but the food was not.

After our meal I needed to find an ATM there was one not too far away, and had no problems getting some cash.

We made our way back to our road and stopped off at a super market next to our hostel. We bought some icecream and popcorn to eat while watching a movie back at the hostel. The hostel has a big screen tele and a hardrive full of movies, it should be a good day. Just before we went into the movie room we had a Skype call from Jordan, having fathers day lunch with Kim's relatives nice to here a familiar voice.

I chose the new Indiana Jones to watch, we had the whole room to ourselves it was nice and comfy. We had plenty of cheap beers too. Towards the end of the show people came and sat down to watch. When the movie finished I told a fella to go pick another movie, and he chose lock stock. Good choice, not such a good choice to pass on deodorant though, cause he stank.

Then it was getting late in the arvo and towards the end of lock stock. The room was getting quite full, the crowd weren't really watching the movie anymore. They were more into socializing, and stinking out the place by smoking inside and smelling like dirty rotten back packers. Question.. what is with the male back packers growing beards in China? My old boss went to China last year and came back with a beard.

Anywho We left the smelly room and went up stairs to play some 8ball. The cue tips were very second hand, and weren't the best at all for hitting the ball nice and straight. We got through half a game and gave up. Then we decided to sit up there, where it was nice and quiet and do the reading we were suppose to do today.

We got a bit of reading done, then we got talking to a hostel worker. She was learning English and she had a few questions for us. She tried helping us with our Mando too, but she was a little more advanced with her English than we were with our Chinese that's for sure. She gave us a few new words to use and we gave here a couple also. We talked for about 2.5 hours. It was 9pm and we hadn't had dinner either. So we broke up the conversation and went to go get some din dins.

We went to a restaurant straight across from the hostel. The food was good but the service was a bit ordinary. Never mind it filled the hole, we went back to the room to do some more reading and got cleaned up for bed. The rest day was good. We made some good plans for Beijing, and we have a big day planned for tomorrow.
