Tuesday : sunny
Well seeing the hard part was already done I.E getting into china. We had a nice sleep in, and then a big buffet breakfast. We had fruit and cereals.
After breaky we went for a walk across the road to the beach, very bright with no sunnies and warm also today.
Back at the hotel we asked the concierge, the best way of getting to Guangzhou. It was by bus and should take 2-2.5 hrs. Then we went and played ping pong and checked out the pool on the four floor, good view of the beach but no shade what so ever. This hotel has everything ping pong, pool tables, ten pin bowling, gym, sauna, massage. Cool place wish we stated longer.
Checkout was at 12 so we did that and went to the bus station by taxi. At the station there was no English on the timetable, any English anywhere as a matter of fact. Luckily the ticket lady spoke it, and she pointed us in the direction for the bus. Then we got pointed to the right bus by the boarding crew, easy after all. The bus was ready to go shortly after we hopped on and off we went.
The bus trip was quick with very minor honking the road rules here are similar to Vietnam. Everyone is going everywhere, but there using way less horn in doing it. They actually have freeways here too, which makes the trip much faster.
The only pain was where the bus dropped us off, it was on the other side of town, and we had so much trouble getting a taxi it was not funny.
We were trying to get wifi to see where we were, but we needed a china sim card, to login on to the free services, even in Maccas. We got the hotel address changed into Chinese by a shop assistant, so the cabbies could read it. Still no pickup, if you could get one to stop, that's right even empty ones would keep on driving. Show him the address, they would shake their head and drive off??? No idea why?? It wasn't just happening to us though, a lot of others were getting rejected
We were approached by to ladies on the street, and they offered to help us. They hailed a taxi, but he still didn't what to take us, but they yelled something at him, and the angry b****** took us then, Pardon my french there.
It didn't seem like a short trip maybe 15-20min any cabbie back home would of jumped at us for that trip. Still only cost us under $4.
It took a while to checkin to this hotel the couldn't find the reservation eventually it was shorted and we were in. Had a rest and a read of our guides.
Then went for some food there was a whole strip of restaurants, hard part was choosing one. We of corse choose the spicy dishes the menu only had pictures no English. It took awhile to get through the meal but the beers helped.
The ice cream afterwards helped even more. We came back to the hotel and did some more reading before we went to bed, again around midnight.
