Initial visit.

Team Project Africa consisting of Ben, John, Julia, Rick, Carline, Ian and Project lead Renee met in Accra, Ghana very tired after a long long journey coming from various locations of Australia.

After flying in to Kumasi we breifly visited Kumasi childrens home where we were welcomed by a sea of smiling young orphans. Each with a story to tell. We took the time to size up what we would need in the upcoming days as well as getting our bearings in such a populated city where temperatures were stifling. Our first impressions will remain with us for the rest of our lives as too will the first time we met all the kids.

After a good night's rest we headed into the centre of Kumasi to pick up some vital supplies for the orphans as well as meeting with localy based Nestle colleagues who have been assisting us from day one.

We headed to the children's home and gave out the shoes that were donated by Nestle Australia. The kids were so happy with what they were given - all of them danced around with joy showing off their new shoes with pride.

Tomorrow we are playing hosts to 20-25 kids at our hotel not too far from the orphange. We look forward to sharing more smiles and laughs with them given they rarely have the opportunity to leave their compound let alone swim in a hotel pool.
