FULL UPDATE
Sunday 25th May Day 2
After having woken up at 5.00am with jetlag, we ventured out of the hotel for an early breakfast. Lib was really excited about going to an American diner, and then she saw the great big hill we had to walk up to get to Roxanne's Diner.
Following this, mum booked us surprise pedicures with Wendy. It was like feet heaven, plus we have very pretty feet.
We decided to take it easy on the first day, just roaming around the shops and getting used to the area. We spent a lot of time and certainly a lot of money in American Eagle J
We started to get hungry, so decided to go up to the cheesecake factory in Macy's, however the wait was 1 hour. We wondered downstairs to the basement to see if there was anything edible in the food court, but it was like the wheat and dairy factory! By this time we were about ready to kill each other. So we decided to get a cab to the ferry building, mum jumped in one to find her feet in beer! Nice! Anyways the traffic towards the ferry building was at standstill, we started chatting about nice restaurants in the city, we said we like the cheesecake factory but the queue was too long at union square. The cab driver informed us there were another one in town where there would be no queue, and no traffic, so off we went. On the way he kept chatting to us, we slowly realised he was a complete fruit loop. As we were driving through areas where there were homies and gangsters, we thought we may have been heading in the wrong direction. He decided to dump us off on a street corner and pointed to the direction of the cheesecake factory, we turned the corner to discover a citizen cake restaurant grrrr. At this point we were all about to collapse on the floor with starvation, to cut a long story short we finally found somewhere to eat and we were all a little less grumpy so we hit the shops! Later on we finally made it to the cheesecake factory for dinner, although it was like we were eating at 4.00am UK time. Very strange! It was early to bed….zzzzzzzzz

Monday 26th May - Day 3 We woke up at 5.45am, a little improvement from the day before. We were still suffering with jetlag, so thought it would be ideal to take a tour bus around San Francisco. It is quite ironic as we went on one of those open top London tour buses. We sat upstairs, it was bloody freezing! Mum and lib did not have any warm layers, think it was actually warmer in England. We drove through Chinatown, North Beach, Pacific Heights, Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge! It was so windy and foggy we were wrapped in blankets. The bridge reminded me of the 'full house' days. We went back to Fisherman's Wharf for lunch and some seafood, afterwards we had a stroll around ghiradelli square, which was really nice. We went into the chocolate shop, which attracted the crowds. I allowed Lib and Mum to have a chocolate fudge sundae, not each though - hehe!!
Next was the flagship benefit store. We got our first local bus which was an experience, as we couldn't even recognise what the bus stop looked like. It was located in Chesnut Street in North Beach, which seemed to be an affluent area, with lots of nice boutiques.Lib and I basically ran to the benefit store in excitement, we did our usual buy as much benefit makeup as possible for half the price.
After walking around, we jumped back onto the tour bus back to union square. It had been a really long day, we were all hungry and cranky. We didn't know where to go or what to eat, so after much deliberating we decided to stay in and have a takeaway. Still suffering from jetlag, we completely flaked out whilst waiting for the food. By the time it arrived I was ready to eat my left arm, we opened it and it looked like horse meat. Not a very nice experience!
Tuesday 27th May Day 4
I was fed up of eating fry ups so I made mum hike up the hills to Whole Foods with me. Lib stayed in bed and we got her some breakfast. On the way down we jumped on a cable car, which was great fun, it was like being on a rollercoaster. Once Lib had her brekkie, we got back on the cable car up the hills and went to the Ferry Building. Inside there was lots of lovely restaurants and delis, it was right up our street. Later on, we took a ferry to sausilito, a small town which had unfortunately been taken over by starbucks. Like most places in the US!
For dinner, we went out for thai food, which was very yummy and affordable. As it was the last night we had some cocktails in the hotel, lib had a raspberry cosmo - she felt like carrie from sex and the city.
Wednesday 28th May Day 5
It was a morning jog/walk to Whole Foods again, my favourite place! Today we were off to Monterey. San Francisco has been fun, but we were all ready to move down South out of the city.
Quick entry as hungry for breakfast as I have been abandoned, need to find my own way around
Sunday - Surprise was pedicures. Got a lovely French Pedi at the moment. Shopping in American Eagle, Old Navy and Pac Sun. Out to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. General chill out day to get our bearings.
Monday - Sight seeing, crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, a bit more shopping (went to the Benefit store!), take out for dinner (not that nice).
Tuesday - Still a bit jetlagged. More sightseeing to do. Want to go on a cable car.
San Francisco is nice, but I don't feel particuarly safe because there are 36,000 homeless people here and they are everywhere asking you for money.
