A short days driving today (only 380, and mostly sealed) meant a bit of a sleep in and a slightly easier pack up of camp this morning. We left Birdsville at about 10am and headed to Boulia. A full day in Birdsville today meant a bit of a sleep in, and we were thankful because the wind blew up in the middle of the night and the flapping, creaking and rattling of the camper trailer kept Brad, Eddie and myself awake for hours. James slept through the whole thing, which didn't surprise me as we have always said James could sleep through a hurricane. Off to Birdsville today, 630km trip today, with 270km of that being dirt, so another early morning. Packing today seemed a little easier and we managed to be on the road by 8am, hurrah! The scenery for the morning consisted of large windmills, more creeks, wildlife and the first of the sand dunes. Today was the day we got to test out our packing up skills with 2 kids in tow, our aim was to get on the road by 8am with 550km of outback roads ahead of us, which meant a 6am alarm.
