We arrived in Krakow as extremely sweaty messes! (Jenny was particularly grumpy).
Our first evening was spent eating a two course meal at a Milk Bar for the grand price of 6 quid (for both of us - including drinks). We explored the square, the castle and the Franciscan monastery before being stereotypical tourists and having a horse drawn carriage ride around Krakow. Our wanderings also led us to the hotel where the England team were staying and we just missed out on seeing Ashley Cole and Roy "the Owl" Hodgson!
We got up nice and early to "enjoy" a trip to Auschwitz. We were told our coach had air conditioning and lots of leg room. This turned out to be them driving with the windows down and enough leg room for a small dwarf. The tour guide we had was excellent! Her grandparents had lived only a few km from the camp during WWII and had lots of interesting stories to add! Of course we experienced, again, Michael's mutterings of b******s throughout the visit. We met an Australian and a Southerner during the visit who we spent the rest of the afternoon chatting with in Krakow.
Not much more to say really... Apologies for the bland entry... (and the awful grammar and typos)
