Hey all,
we headed on up to mission beach where we ended up staying for 4 nights. There was'nt much going on there but it was a really nice place to chill out in for a few days. We invited Mark and Kate to come and do some camping with us for a couple of days. There where a little skint, plus after the Noosa camping experiance we felt we should show them how to camp in style. Al took them al fishing and Kate caught a reef shark (which al landed so it was a team effort really) and al caught a hammer head shark (check photo's). We all booked to go and do some white water rafting. So of we went to the Tully river, there had been some rain fall so it was a good time to do it. It was an early start but things went a little wrong. The company forgot to come and pick us up, so at 8.20 am we phoned them, i had to have a verbal disagreement with a few people over the phone. In the end we got picked up by a cab (which they paid for) and taken to the starting location. After a safty briefing on the bus we got suited up and met our nutcase of a guide MJ. The tully river has grade 4 rapids on it which are the strigest rapid's that you can under take with a public company. So it was a pretty hard day of paddleing with lunch in the middle then some more paddleing. None of our boat fell in and we all came out alive and had a grat day. The following day we headed of to cairns. We where only about an hour and half from cairns, but we had been told about the drive thought the table lands by a guy in Bunderburg, and had decided to take that route. Two reasons for this really 1, it has some amazing views and 2, it's was of the main roads. With Kiyle beening aboput 6 weeks out of date with her rego we felt that it was probally the best option. It was a really cool drive that took us up into the hills, we checked out the water falls around Milla Milla then took in Kurunda village and the huge Barron falls before come in to Cairns from the north (check out the pic's). So it was with mixed feeling that we arrived in Cairns. Kylie has started to make some pretty funky nosie's and we know that we wont be able to sell her. We have pushed our luck driving her this far without rego so it looks like her last resting place will be a wreckers yard here in Cairns, then with the money from that we looking into booking a car for 2/3 days to drive back to Brissy where we can work again, as money is getting a little short again. So we did it we completed our goal of driving from Pearth to Cairns. It pretty inpresssive seen as that works out to be about half the circuferance of the globe. It's been along trip and alot of fun, what am i saying it's not over yet !!!!! We have booked to go and have a look at Cape Tribulation and we are also looking into doing a skydive, bungy and maybe a couple of dive's. So keep an eye on this site still as there be plent more to come, what with the journy back to brissy the fun were have there and the Woodford festival coming up at the end of the year life is far from being slow, and the trip is far from being over. I'm looking forward to getting back to brissy and jen ( and all the other cool people i met there) as i liked it alot there. So for now i'll say goobye take care miss you all and i'll update the site soon, cape tribulation here we come.......
