Now we are back in Cusco after the Inca trail. Everything went fine and we saw some beautiful mountains, magical paths and finally Machu Picchu. We did have some problems with the waether with quite a bit of rain and the clouds covered some of the impressive views of snow capped mountains and some of the dar off views of Machu Picchu. However the sorrounding clouds also gave the old narrow inca roads that we followed through the mountains a very magical atmosphere which would not have been the same id sharp sun had revealed everything. After a few days we were getting a bit tired of wet clothes, but it would also have been very hard to do the trek in baking sun.
The trek was actually a bit harder than I expected, but since I was properly aclimatised this time it was no more than I could manage and I do not have too many sore muscles now. The food was really good on the trek. All meals was prepared by one of our porters on the gas stove they carried with them and it was amazing what they could prepare on their gas fire. We even had a great cake decorated with glazing for breakfast on the second last day.
Machu Picchu was also amazing and it was surprising how big the place was. I have taken a couple of hundred pictures of the terk and the inca ruins the last few days but you will have to wait for those. Now I have to go up and pack beacuse we are flying down to the jungle for our 6 day jungle trip tomorrow so I will not be back to civilization before the 11th.
