The day started with us waking up to the heavy rain in Wellington which did much remind me of being back home! After packing all our things we made our way up a steep hill to the car and bundled all our stuff in as quickly as possible to prevent the wind and rain getting to us and started the long journey back to Havelock North.
The rain continued for most of the trip but. This never dampened our sprits especially when I clocked eyes onto a sign for a cheesecake cafe and asked p-j if we could stop, which of course we did. We had a bite to eat (along with free cheesecake sample tasting!) and went back on the road again. We saw a sign for 'Stonehenge' and thought we may as well take a look to see if it's anything like home. After following signs for what felt like forever we got to stonehenge to find it was closed due to weather conditions! It was only raining a little bit!
We then took a slight detour and headed for the longest place name in the world which on the map said it was up a mountain!
Me being absolutely knackered really hoped this was not the case but when we finally got there it was just a massive sign on the side of the road! Phew!
We finally made it back to the house unpacked and spent the rest of the evening relaxing with Graham, Jo and Travis.
The next day wee awoke to a glorious morning with the sun shining and clear blue skies and got down to business of helping clean Graham and Jo's gutters.
After p-j tried taking out the leaves with a spoon he climbed on the roof with a leaf blower and blasted all the gutters clean, a much better approach we found!
We all then got ready and headed to the beach.
A nice walk later along the lovely sandy shores we had a quick coffee at the surf club and headed to Graham and Jo's friends for a BBQ and some drinks.
It was a really lovely evening which even ended with everyone arm wrestling each other and Jo beating me within only a few seconds!
Last but not least we drove home with Jo blasting One Direction and me and her signing our hearts out whist he boys looked like they were ready to jump out of the car! Oh well : )
