Auckland - Day Two:
On our second day in the city we were still suffering from a bit of jet lag so decided to take it easy.
We spend the day down by the waterfront which, unlike Vancouver, was a really nice place to chill. There were some very comfy, normal sized, deck chairs that we could relax on (see the picture of Amanda). We took a stroll along the rest of the harbour and came across a lot of really nice restaurants and not to mention a fish market with the biggest live crayfish I've seen! Further along the city have kept there industrial routes but created some cool play areas and things to do.
We took a slight pit stop at a Spanish bar, for a lemon, lime bitter before, headed back into the city which hit rush hour.
Their rush hour was like our day time traffic! It's busy but no way near London's mayhem.
The day ended with us chilling in the flat watching a movie and off for another early night (especially as I fell asleep at six!)
Day three:
This day started with Amanda a little stressed due to her appending interview with a recruitment agency but it all went well.
I met up with Aisha in the morning and, after Amanda joined us, we went in search of some food and what did we find...... Ice cream!
We decided that an ice cream shop would be the best place to order some cake, that came with a free drink, and to my delight the lady asked us to also choose any ice cream to go with it! Amazing!
After being sufficiently full on ice cream we said goodbye to Aisha and headed back to the flat to chill but decided to take a detour and picked up some freshly made Won Tons and made our way to Albert Park (not before Amanda spotted a Chinese lady with what she thought was a new Hermes bag and decided to chase after her to stare at her bag! Weirdo!).
Albert park was an unexpected addition to Auckland, above the city it was like you stepped into the country side and chilled in the afternoon sun... Well not before I dropped some of my Won Ton on the floor and attracted what seemed to be every bird in a mile radius and had to move lol!
Albert park also gave us the opportunity to do something the health and safety police in the UK would have prevented us from doing - we got to monkey around in some trees in a public park :)
