Hi Everyone,
My apologies for the delay in writing my second post but this is the first time that I have had the internet since Bangkok. I just wrote an epic post, but the internet decided to fail as I sent it, so I am now super bored of typing and will make this shorter.
So I am currently typing from a little place called Tip Guest House in Chang Mai, Northern Thailand, for those who don't know. I have done loads since my last post and will try and keep it short and sweet-ish.
So on the night of my last post me and Jamie hit Ko San Rd, which quickly escalated into my arm being twisted into going to watch a Ping Pong show, which I have to say is the most wrong thing that I have ever seen, I had to have a wash after watching it.............SICK!!!!! If girls pulling all sorts out of their fannies is your cup of tea (Prickett), including ping pong balls and razor blades, then this is definitely up your street.
After this horrible experience me and Jamie returned to Ko San Rd and had a few beers from a street vendor. We were soon joined by a hole group of people from all over the UK and decided to head out of Ko San Rd to see what the night life had to offer in Bangkok. The Thai GIRL who was serving us beer also decided to join us after she finished work and gave us a guided tour of the night life. This eventually descended into an all nighter, raving with a load of Spanish dudes, not a good idea when you have to catch a bus at 07:15am to Kanchanaburi in the morning.
Needless to say I was hung over for the rest of the day which was scorching and jam packed with activities, cwhich consisted of visiting the floating markets, the bridge over the River Kwai, and the Tiger Temple. I wasn't that impressed by the floating markets as they just catered too much towards the tourists with crappy nick nacks, rather than keeping everything authentic. The bridge over the River Kwai was really interesting, with lots of war stuff to take in. The Tiger Temple has recieved some seriously mixed reviews since I have been here and I must admit that I wasn't impressed. The temple for starters wasn't a temple but a canyon, and the tigers seemed to be sedated and chained to the floor which I wasn't a fan of, I expected them to just be really tame Tigers........oh well.
After this I parted company with my group for the day and joined another bunch of randoms for the next few days. 2 Irsh girls, Aisleen and Siobhan, an Australian couple, Graeme and Carolin, a Ukranian guy called Anton and a Norweigan guy called Knut. We stayed in a river shack called the Kitti Raft which had amazing views. I had to share a room with Knut as the place was over booked which I was cool about until I found out that he snores like an absolute trooper. Anywho after hardly any sleep due to my Norweigan friend :) we all headed to Erawan National Park which was amazing. We saw the 7 tiered waterfall which was awesome and swam in the lagoons, down the rock slides (Jungle Book stylee) and had our feet nibbled by the fish (free massage).
Our days activities then took us to Hells Pass, which was really interesting. Graeme's Dad was part of the building of Hell's Pass and he passed away more recently, so it was cool to walk around with him and Carolin. There was also a massive group of school kids walking around the museum who were obsessed with me, taking loads of photos and shaking my hand. I think this was purely because I have fair hair and blue eyes rather than the fact that I am a looker haha :)
So we had a few beers back at the Kitti Raft and another sleepless night with Knut roaring like a walrus. Our next day consisted of bathing Elephants in the morning, which was amazing, (I'll get some more photos up soon I promise) and then Elephant trecking and bamboo rafting in the afternoon, before getting a mini bus back to Bangkok train station to catch the night train to Chang Mai, my current location.
The night train was pretty hairy but cool at the same time. It was rocking and rolling all over the shop, so once again a pretty rubbish nights sleep. I am surprised that I am feeling so good after having about 2 hours sleep in 3 days, but I am all good :)
I met a girl called Hellana on the train who was also travelling by herself, she was hilarious and we got on really well so I might try and meet up with her in Ko Tao to go diving, which will be cool, if I can get there in time.
Thats about it for now folks, I will try and post some more shorter pieces soon after my 3 day treck in Chang Mai. Over and out!!!! :) x
