This weather is amazing, 28 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Sara cooked a beautiful breakfast and then we all caught the ferry over to Rottnest Island as this was the main thing we wanted to do in Perth. We hired bikes and all had a laugh when Geoff inflated my tyres and 10 minutes into our ride it was as flat as a pancake. What is it with us and tyres!
Rottnest Island was at it best. The water was a beautiful deep blue and looked very inviting. Tili and Pippy went for a snorkel but their lips looked the same colour blue as the water when they came out! We didn't quite circumnavigate the island but we did ride about 15kms so not too bad. Geoff moaned about how out of condition he is on the bike and how long it is going to take him to catch up with the High St Flyers when he gets back. The kids got very friendly with the quokkas, especially one they nicknamed Fudge who we discovered had a little baby in her pouch. The quokkas are so tame they let you pat them.
We caught the ferry back to Fremantle and had dinner at a local brewery - Little Creatures. The only low point being when we lost Benjie. We were busy finding a table and rearranging seats so it was a good 10 mins before we noticed he was missing. Geoff, Sara and I all went running in different directions and found him in the arms of one of the bar staff - Phew!
