touched down in darwin after a fairly easy flight from singapore in the hopes of bright sushine and hot weather. we got the hot weather but it was raining pretty hard. our taxi driver informed us it was the start of the wet season up north and would probably last till april time....thanks STA for that one. once we had found a hostel we had been told about (melalouca on mitchell) we settled into a hot and sweaty room that smelt of damp....great start.our ac was the worst ever and nothing dried at all. the hostel was known to be a lively place as it was licenced and had a fairly popular bar area. the swimming pool was our only saviour and way to get away from the heat. we got free evening meals virtually every night in a well known bar called the Vic, not bad but not the best place in town. our stay really consisted of lounging around and doing very little, we were so layed back about it we left it too late to actually book any tours(oops) webby and myself managed to stumble around crocosaurus cove one morning but other than that darwin wasnt very eventful. we were asked by alot of people why we had gone there...apparently the obvious thing to do is go straight to cairns....thanks STA! so when i get around to putting the photos up they will consist of some massive crocs and our night out on christmas eve with some random kiwi fellas (who couldnt cope with the matchboz game.....ha ha)
photos will be up when i get round to it
