Well here we are in Las Vegas, Nevada in the Luxor Hotel on the famous 'Strip'. Well what can I tell you about this most talked about place? Not a lot actually (in my opinion anyway)! It is full of hotels, each of which can hold the M.E.N. Arena and half of meadowhall, oh and a whacking big casino and restaurants! We have to walk around a mile just to get out of the hotel!! The famous strip - well just full of hotels, seedy men and women selling prositutes, strip joints and casinos. A lot like Blackpool but bigger, but the same type of people - yes the ones with tatts!!!!!!! It does look spectacular at night when it is lit up though. However, it takes you around 2 days just to figure out the way around getting to your hotel room from reception!! It's just very hard work, especially when there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and you have to trek all the way around this whacking place just to get coffee!!! Glad I have seen it, but it doesn't ring my bell! We have flown out to Arizona today to visit the Grand Canyon National Park. This was amazing (including the flight on the small propellor plane). The only down side of the tour was that due to bad cloud and drizzle, we could not fly over the hoover dam and the canyon views were not as good due to poor visibility. However, we thoroughly enjoyed it and we wish now that we had stayed over there instead of doing Vegas, but as Tim quite rightly says - it is a place you just have to see, which you do. We have been on the roulette table!!! The gambling is so imense here and people just stay up all night gambling! Infact, when we went out this morning at 5 am for the tour to the Grand Canyon, there were people still drinking and gambling. Nothing ever closes here! It is heaving with folk! We fly out to Salt Lake City, Utah tomorrow (Wednesday 8th), where we pick up car hire for 2 days. I suppose we are going from one extreme state to one on the other extreme as it is a big Mormon state so from where smoking is allowed in the casinos, drinking, gambling, strip joints, to a state where nothing will be allowed!! Looking forward to seeing Salt Lake and we are off to visit Antelope Island which is supposed to be most famous for it's abundant wildlife. Speaking of wildlife I captured wild chipmunks on camera at the Grand Canyon today! Check out our photos - you will see the ones of me shaking in my boots on what seemed like the edge of the planet! Will post another blog and pics from Utah
