Hay everyone.
Last night I headed up the beach to a bar/restaurant called Tsunami Hotel. A few Sri Lankan guys sat down with me and started offering around a drink called Asaka. Its some kind of coconut spirits which you drink with Coke. It tastes really nice and I am going to try and pick up a few bottles to bring home. I saw it in the shops that other day for 350 ($4AUD) rupees for 700mLs. I sat round with them drinking and listening to music until about 10:00pm. It is really funny becuase MIA is huge over here becuase she was born in Sri Lanka. Every bar and restaurnant plays her music and they get really excited when "Paper Planes" come on. This morning I got a Tuk-Tuk to a point-break called Whiskey Point. It was about a 20 minute drive away in a really secluded area up north. Have to drive past a big waterhole full of elephants to get there. The surf was really good. Once again it was about 3 - 4 foot and wrapped around a large group of boulders into a sandy bay which broke for about 100 metres. I was out with a few americans w***ers who dropped in on everyone) and an english couple I met at the Tsunami Hotel. Surfed there for about 3 hours while my TukTuk driver waited for me. I felt a little bad that he waited all that time and the return trip only cost me 500 rupees ($6AUD). The english couple I met are travelling around Sri Lanka for 1 year and have gone out and bought a tuk-tuk to travel in. Brand new it costs them $2500. It also seems that I attract wildlife for some unknown reason. Yesterday morning a dog followed me to the point when I went surfing. The whole time I was in the water it waited on the beach. When I got out of the water it followed me back to my Cabana. It hasnt left since. He just sleeps on my porch and barks at the crows trying to eat my pringles. Whenever I go surfing he waits for me on the beach. I think he loves me (probably becuase I feed him). I have named him Mr. Squiggle. I also have 2 squirrels who live in the roof of my cabana. Scared the crap out of me last night when I came home drunk and saw eyes staring at me in the dark. They are pretty cool though... first time I have seen squirrels before and they also love eating my pringles.
Tonight I am going back to the Tsunami Hotel to meet up with the english couple and a french dude. The hotel is having a BBQ for us where they have a hungy type hole in the ground and cook up some fish over coals. Tomorrow morning I am going to get a Tuk-Tuk to a surf spot down south called Crocodile Rock. It is meant to be the longest point-preak around so I will let you know how that goes.
Have fun,
Kris
