Lauterbrunnen is crazily beautiful! We're living on the Schutzenbach campsite which is basically in a valley surrounded by mountains with ice-capped glaciers in the distance. There's also a few waterfalls coming off these huge mountains, with one directly behind the campsite. Perfect place to have a campsite!
Deciding against catching the CHF 145 and 2 hour train ride to Jungfrau Mountain (the highest train station in Europe), Andie, Litta, Angelie, Sophie and myself went on a trek from the campsite to the Staubbach Falls, passing through the cutest cemetery lined with lots of flowers. We went into the mountain and got behind the foot if the waterfall, getting a clear view of the entire Lauterbrunnen village down below. Very awesome. Weather was 25deg and sunny. Bloody perfect!
Then we continued trekking (well just walking as they were normal roads) to the Trummelbach Falls, passing by cute houses, Swiss cows with cow bells on and taking loads of photos! Trummelbach Falls was a big waterfall inside a mountain (CHF11 admission fee). The water was thunderous inside but again, another spectacular sight. Awesome views of the Lauterbrunnen village again
Then we headed up on the cable car to Murren, at the top of the waterfall. Andie however took off to go do a skydive over the Swiss Alps! Walking through the quaint town of Murren with their array of souvenir shops, restaurants, hotels we began our 1.5 hr walk towards Grutschalp, where we took the cable car back down to Lauterbrunnen town centre. The walk was relaxing and good exercise after a tiring bus ride the night before.
Andie's skydive over the Swiss Alps was of corse, out of this world! She came back from it on a high and told stories of a safe sex jumpsuit and sitting comfortably on a middle-aged Swiss guy's lap. The unfortunate thing was the camera stopped working for her right before she jumped out of the helicopter, so she missed out on a DVD and photo documenting her dive.
After making our way back to the camp site, we had an awesome dinner yet again-- potato rosti, greens and cream & white wine chicken; with apple strudel for dessert! Yumm!
Although we were totally knackered, we went to the bar for a drink. Andie and I were getting annoyed by "Kitty", with her constant whining about being "cold" and "tired" (amongst other things) in her whiny high pitched annoying kiwi accent. Totally self-obsessed b**** who thinks she's a princess. We were quite alarmed when she wanted to come crash in our room after finding out it was only us 2 in a room.
...Also some rude ppl pushing in front of us for food. Who does that these days??
A few weirdos and ugly b***ns on this trip.
